Ron Gilad has created each of these vases by accident - a car accident in fact! The result is a one of a kind object of art with unique, chaotic curves. These objects are the first in a series of "design through destruction," an exploration in losing control. They are created by unleashing energy and letting fate rule the object's final form, as opposed to a mass produced cookie cutter process. Availble in black and chrome.

Gilad is a well-established and esteemed Israeli-by-origin designer who quickly drew the attention of curators, galleries, designers and press even while still a student at the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem.

Each of his designs exhibits his meticulous attention and focus, his poetic formalism, and his offering of beautiful asceticism to a camp-obsessed world. Some of the objects are simple paradoxes that provoke while exploring design in an innovative manner that questions the objects’ original functionality, breaking it into its basic elements and recreating it while challenging art and design concepts. Through this rigor, however, Gilad enlivens a consciousness of material vulnerability and deception: a cylinder vase is pierced by a bullet, what appears to be a table is in fact a block of wood with a printed void.
